Apopka,FL - 03/15/2008
The Apopka Town Hall took place at the John Bridges Community Center. There is a large hall with small classrooms surrounding it. Each table had colored post it notes and white flip chart paper.
EQUAL VOICE FOR AMERICA'S FAMILIES TOWNHALL
El Paso- 03/08/2008
There where 130 people, mostly women, in attendance or this townhall. The women there were farmworkers, former garment workers, as well as mothers, grandmothers and wives. Thoughout the townhall, it was evident the pride these women had in their work, communities and their families.
It was a wonderful commemoration of International Women's Day to see the people of El Paso and Las Cruces share their respect, love and responsibility for their communities by coming out to the Equal Voice for America's Families townhall. By doing this, they ensured that their voice, and that of their families, was indeed heard.
EQUAL VOICE FOR AMERICA'S FAMILIES TOWNHALL
Georgia, Atlanta - 01/26/2008
The townhall in Atlanta was part of a full day of events, including the 28th annual Poor Peoples’ Assembly and the US Social Forum’s Global Day of Action. A coalition of more than 70 groups caravanned through the streets of Atlanta, and after a rally at the State Capitol came together for the first ever Poor Peoples’ Assembly and Equal Voice for America's Families townhall.
Families across the country are taking advantage of the opportunity to speak at Equal Voice for America's Families townhalls about their lives and the issues that concern them most.

EQUAL VOICE FOR AMERICA'S FAMILIES
New Orleans Townhall- 01/23/2008
Following the success in South Texas, 300 hundred more turned out for the townhall in New Orleans, including more than 100 single female heads of households who participated after having worked a full day. Local grantees considered a crowd that size to be nothing short of remarkable given the state of New Orleans two years after Hurricane Katrina. As we saw in other parts of the country, families want their voices heard when it comes to the issues that affect them.
